I took September off from meal planning and we ordered meal kit deliveries for the month. This used to feel like such a nice break from meal planning, but it’s been a long time since we ordered them and life has changed!
I started monthly meal planning at the start of the year, gradually moving from weekly to fortnightly to monthly. I did it in anticipation of a busy year, but I think it’s something we’ll keep doing no matter how busy we are.
Perhaps you’re a bit like me - I don’t thoroughly enjoy the process of meal planning and can find it a bit dreary and difficult at times, but I LOVE the benefits. Switching to doing it once every 4-5 weeks has not only helped save me time, but it’s been so relieving mentally. I am sitting here typing this knowing that I don’t have to think about meal planning again until NOVEMBER. I don’t need to wonder what’s for dinner, because it’s all planned - but still flexible so we can pick anything from the list depending on what we feel like.
So, enough waffling from me! Here’s the meal plan for the next 5 weeks.
Oh, and a quick note if you’re new! We don’t love cooking, so I meal plan meals that are 4+ servings and we have leftovers every night. We also bought some frozen meals in place of ‘takeaway’ for any nights we just can’t be bothered.
Lunches:
Week 1: Quiche (and leftover servings of soup)
Week 2: Tuna Casserole Bakes
Week 3: Healthier Mac & Cheese
Week 4: Spaghetti & Aldi pre-made meatballs + Chicken Salad jars
Week 5: Chicken Pasta Bake (made in individual containers)
Dinners:
Chicken Parmesan Meatballs with veg (a friend’s recipe)
Peanut Noodles
Sun-Dried Tomato & Chicken Pasta
Chicken Schnitzel Salad w Quinoa & Cranberries
Sunday Roast x2
Breakfasts will be the same old smoothies and overnight oats because we’re creatures of habit when it comes to breakfasts. Snacks will be yoghurt and homemade muesli bars, I’m hoping to also make some bliss balls throughout the month but we’ll see if that actually happens!
So crazy to think there’s one more meal plan left before the weird month that is December!
Happy October, friends! Let me know if you decide to steal some of these for your meal plan ;)
